Last year, I shared the boys’ room makeover. One of the projects from that update was this basketball hoop makeover…that I’m just finally getting around to sharing! (Oops!) I had every intention of sharing this shortly after I shared their room, but then forgot about it until someone recently asked if we had a tutorial for what we did.
This basketball hoop makeover was actually inspired by a hoop I saw at CB2 (they no longer carry it). It was a leather and copper basketball hoop, and was really expensive, but very pretty. 😁 Since the boys were wanting a hoop in their room, I was inspired by that one to make theirs a little better looking than your average indoor basketball hoop.
This was really easy to do and only cost the price of our hoop – $20, since we had the rest of the supplies on hand already. The basketball hoop we used is an over the door hoop, I liked the mini size of it and that the rim was already black. So you can use this hoop over the door if you’d like, rather than screwing it into a wall. Find the tutorial details, and a video, below!
