The last couple weeks have been busy. Crazy busy. Like not knowing what day it is and then forgetting to take children to their appointments kind of busy. Yikes! But it’s also been fun…full of family visits, summer vacation officially starting, good food and celebrations.
One of the celebrations included a baby shower for my baby sister! I still can’t even wrap my mind around the fact that little Lyndsay is having a baby!! I’m looking forward to a new little one to spoil in the fall – I love being an Auntie! Because of the many parties that were happening within a couple weeks, we didn’t plan for any of the celebrations to be featured on the blog – that just adds a whole new element of prep & planning, and we didn’t want the extra pressure of adding that in. However, we had some requests to show at least a few photos from the shower – so here’s a little glimpse of the baby shower Caitlin, Marla and I (along with my mama) threw for Lyndsay & her sweet babe to be!
The shower was a brunch, with a rustic/outdoorsy feel since Lyndsay and her husband, Andy, love backpacking & hiking. It was supposed to happen outside but we had a mini monsoon that weekend and had to improvise for an indoor gathering. One of the highlights of the shower was a donut bar, with donuts from Paula’s Donuts, a nearby donut shop that we love! We decorated with succulunets (a nod to Lyndsay’s California living!) and lots of ferns and flowers from my mom’s gardens. The succulents also served as the favors, we wrapped a bunch in kraft paper and guests could take them home. It was a fun morning – spending time with family & friends, enjoying some favorite foods, playing games and getting to love on the mama to be!
(The cake was Blueberry Breakfast Cake and it was delicious and perfect for a brunch! You can find the recipe here).
We can’t wait for this little one to arrive!
